Harborfield Business Capital takes Waukesha, WI and Waukesha County, WI requests by phone or a short form, matches each to one of six funding structures, and places it with funding partners who review the business and make the credit decision. This page covers each stage, the documents partners usually request and what affects timing.
Who Does What: Harborfield, the Partner and You
Harborfield Business Capital is a broker, not a lender. It does not lend its own money, approve requests or set prices. Its job is to understand what the money is for, pick the structure that fits, prepare the request and place it with funding partners who lend or advance in that structure.
The funding partner reviews the business, decides yes or no, and sets the amount, cost, schedule and conditions. You read the partner's written terms and decide whether to accept. Harborfield Business Capital connects you with lending partners; partners make credit decisions and set rates and terms.
Stage 1: The Purpose Call
A short call, or a callback after the form, covers three things: what the money pays for, a rough amount and when it is needed. The structure follows from what the money pays for. Payroll points to working capital, a machine to equipment financing, a buyout to a term loan. The full set of six is laid out on the comparison page.
The form asks for name, phone, email, an optional company name, three picks (time in business, annual revenue range, requested amount range) and consent. No statements or uploads are needed at this stage.
Stage 2: The Records Partners Look For
What do lenders look for when applying for a business loan? Partners generally start from the same kind of evidence: does the business bring in enough money, regularly enough, to carry the new payment on top of what it already owes? The documents below answer that question.
| Document | What it shows | Usually needed for |
|---|---|---|
| Recent months of business bank statements | Deposits, balances, existing debits | Almost every request |
| Business tax returns | Revenue and profit over full years | Term loans and larger amounts |
| Current P&L and balance sheet | Current-year performance | Term loans, larger lines |
| Debt schedule | Loans, leases, advances already being paid | Most requests |
| Equipment quote or invoice | The item being financed | Equipment requests |
| Card-processing statements | Card sales history | Merchant cash advances |
| Entity documents and ID | Ownership and legal standing | At funding |
Bank statements carry the most weight for short-term structures because they show real deposits. Keep them as downloaded PDFs from the bank rather than screenshots, and make sure the account is the business account named on the request.
Stage 3: The Partner's Review
The partner checks the records against the request, often reviews the owner's credit, and may ask follow-up questions. On a yes, it sends written terms: amount, total cost, payment amount and frequency, term, collateral and any personal-guarantee clauses. On a no, Harborfield can tell you whether another structure or partner is worth trying.
How long approval takes depends on three things: the partner, the structure and how complete the file is. Timing also depends on how many documents the structure needs, such as tax returns and a plan. No timeline is promised here, because the partner controls it.
Stage 4: Your Decision
You compare the offers on total cost, payment rhythm and conditions. Accepting means signing the partner's agreement directly with the partner. Declining simply ends the request. Questions about any clause go to the partner before signing, and Harborfield will help you read the terms side by side.
